This couple was ready to experiment from the very first meeting. The apartment was still under construction, time was tight, and the brief was a paradox: to make a restrained Japandi interior get along with the owner’s bold, eccentric paintings.
I have to admit, we turned the options over for a long time, but the puzzle refused to come together. In the end I took a risk and brought in a living-room collage that suited the painting perfectly yet crossed out every canon of the style. That was the point of no return.
